Description
Summary:The present case is included among the so-called special forms of breast cancer. It appears during pregnancy or up to one year after childbirth. It occurs in 1 in 3,000 pregnant women. The highest incidence rates have been registered in developed or developing countries. Diagnosis is performed, in most cases, in advanced stages of the disease, which leads to a worse prognosis and survival than in non-pregnant and puerperal women. The case of a patient who had given birth 9 months ago and was pregnant at the time she attended consultation is presented. She was diagnosed with undifferentiated breast carcinoma. This is the first case of breast cancer diagnosis during pregnancy in the province of Cienfuegos in the last 30 years.
