| description | The approach of North African women’s realities in France through the prism of "gender" in the capacity of a constructivist perspective, as well as its inclusion within socialization and personalization issues, seems to be an effective way for understanding identity dynamics. Based on the clinical data of two doctoral research, one related to educational practices of parents and the other related to young adults cross-cultural socialization and identity orientations, the construction of gender seems to take shape within a restructuring work of cultural references from educational practices and life experiences. Despite the temporal discrepancy regarding parents acculturation activity and young generations cross-cultural activities, both seem to make their way through legacy and desire, memory and the adaptation requirements of this world. School inputs seem however to be a determining additional asset in the development of the youngest. Gender construction appears ultimately as part of a guideline consistent with one’s self-ima-ge and enrolls within a personal achievement dynamic as well as projects that give it meaning and power. |
