Whereas in this modern era the Needs of superior human resource that are
intelligent and religious is incrising. Islamic boarding schools as one of the
oldest educational institutions in Indonesia has produced religious human
figures, on the other hand Islamic higher education as a modern educational
institution gives a pattern in the embodiment of intelligent human beings.
Unfortunately, the two biggest educational potentials owned by the majority
NahdlatulUlama organization are still independent, it hasn't synchronized
properly yet. On the basis of these conditions, education thinkers and
institutions in the NahdlatulUlama environment should pay more attention so
that Islamic boarding schools and Islamic higher education can be
synchronized as an innovative effort to prepare the human resources needed
in their day to welcome a century of Nahdlatul Ulama.

Abstrak
Zaman modern ini kebutuhan sumber daya manusia unggul yang berkarakter
cerdas dan religious meningkat. Pondok pesantren sebagai salah satu
lembaga pendidikan tertua di Indonesia telah menghasilkan figure manusia
yang religious, disatu sisi perguruan tinggi islam sebagai lembaga
pendidikan modern memberi corak dalam perwujudan manusia yang cerdas.
Sayangnya dua potensi pendidikan terbesar yang dimiliki oleh organisasi
Nahdlatul Ulama mayoritas masih berdiri sendiri, belum tersinkronisasi
dengan baik. Atas dasar kondisi itu, sudah semestinya para pemikir
pendidikan dan instansi dilingkungan Nahdlatul Ulama menunjukkan
perhatian lebih agar pendidikan pesantren dan perguruan tinggi Islam dapat
tersingkronisasi sebagai usaha kreatif dan inovatif untuk menyiapkan sumber
daya manusia yang dibutuhkan di zamannya guna menyongsong satu abad
Nahdlatul Ulama.
