description | The aim of this paper is to study the Leader of the Spanish Government’s media representation, Mariano Rajoy, during the period of his mandate from 2011 until 2015 through the front page of the satirical magazine El Jueves. After a brief reference to press cartoons and satirical press concepts, the first section describes the corpus and the tool to work with, the satirical magazine El Jueves. The second one focuses on the methodology framework of the study. The third section deals with the politician professional background and the main events which marked the time of his mandate. Finally, the analysis of the iconographic and discursive elements will enable to identify how the leader’s main character traits are represented. |
