Description
Summary:Faced with the reasoned management and the development of hundreds of sites and anthropological collections in the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur district, the intention of this work is to establish an objective assessment of the archaeological sites which have produced human remains, the related osteo-archaeological collections and the related bibliography. After a brief summary of the archaeological sites and collections available, this article deals mainly with publications, in particular national and regional journals concerning archaeology and anthropology. The study is based on sixteen journals chosen for their analyses, the years of their publication, the date and geographical location of the regional funerary sites studied and finally of the place held by the anthropological contributions. These results are then compared with similar work and with the available biological archives.
