description Today, the braking process of uncoupled cars on hump yards with low productivity is carried out manually, using the brake shoe method. This braking method is based on replacing the rolling friction of the wheel on the rails with the sliding friction of the shoe base and another wheel, not equipped with a shoe, on the track. This sliding of the wheel, not equipped with a shoe, on the rails leads to its uneven wear and the creation of a linear section on the rolling surface, known as a one-sided slider. Such a slider significantly reduces the service life of not only the wheels themselves, but also the axle boxes, as well as the track superstructure, and is the reason for the rejection of cars. Using the software modeling Universal Mechanism (UM simulation), which is used to create various mechanical systems, it is possible to perform various tasks, such as synthesis of motion equations, analysis of object dynamics (solving kinematics and dynamics problems), plotting graphs of various parameters, as well as linear and static analysis performed in the UM simulation program. This program allows you to determine the impact of various deviations during operation using the example of rolling surface defects.
