| Summary: | Jaya algorithm is a highly effective recent metaheuristic technique. In this article, a study is carried out on estimating reliability considering the stress and strength following Weibull distribution with same shape & location parameter but different scale parameter. The novelty of this study lies in using and analyzing the effectiveness of Jaya algorithm in estimation of reliability via maximum likelihood estimation. The simulation studies are carried out with different sample sizes to validate the proposed methodology. The technique is also applied to real life data to show its implementation and the results are compared with the other methods in the literature. The proposed methodology is simple and gives precise results. The inclusion of location parameter in the study significantly impacts the estimated reliability. |
