description Innovating works in children's literature give to young children the opportunity to become authors in two main ways : 1) While apprehending a book, children can see what is not always said, hear what is not shown, know more about the characters than the adult who reads to them the story 2) By identifying themself with some characters, children are invited to follow one specific character who transfigures their reality more than he transforms it (by creating more than by fighting), they can even follow the author himself. This invitation to be an author (beyond the creation of a book), can be analysed as an invitation for a child to be the author of his own life, beginning with learning how to transform its modes of expression. The study of ten recent books will aim to find out the different modes that put a child in the position of being an author.
