Description
Summary:Biolog (computer aided numeric taxonomy method), gas chromatographic analysis of fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs), basic bacteriology, selective media and pathogenicity test were compared for identification of 18 pathogenic bacteria from rice. Biolog and FAMEs were more believable and rapid methods. However, they need some complemental method for identification of some pathogenic bacteria due to their limited databases. Each method has its owns advantage and pitfalls.
