Description
Summary:Since China joined in the WTO, international trade has been increasing more rapidly, which increases the risk of biological invasions of pests. A mobile platform based on Wap named W-QPM was developed to improve quarantine officers' professional ability for identification and decision-making on quarantine pests. W-QPM consists of 5 functional modules, including basic information for quarantine pests; online query and identification; expert consultation and contact information for quarantine organizations. In particular, W-QPM enables users to enhance capability of identification with multi-entry keys and make real-time communication with experts. Quarantine officers can log on it with a Wap-phone anytime anywhere, to view quarantine information, identify quarantine pests and inquire experts online. With the times of 3G approaching, W-QPM can be widely promoted among quarantine officers and used as an assistant tool to acquire relevant information and technique support on the quarantine spots.
