Summary:Abstract The article presents the concept of moral credit one of the key notions of the concept of energy-based economics which was introduced by Stanisław Pszczółkowski, an outstanding economist from the era of the Second Polish Republic. Material and methods Critical analysis of such concept contained in Stanisław Pszczółkowski’s "Outline of Economics" (1936) based on the problem literature review. Results The study presents the essence of moral credit, which is the Polish achievement of the energy-based economics, 40 years ahead of American researchers’ achievements in this field. Subsequently, the corporate nature of the institution was exposed with the attention being paid to the sources of the corporation’s rights to take over its members’ moral obligations. It was followed by reflections on the related issues. Conclusions Moral credit is a highly effective economic institution which influences the level of social security in: social security; community security and developmental security, and is an important element of man’s self-education.
