Description
Summary:Aiming to present a broad, diverse, and innovative Geography grounded in rural spaces, this article approaches geography as a knowledge rooted in the lived practices of people within territorially-based community organizations. The reported experience describes a geo-innovation strategy and its material expressions, developed by rural social actors in Rio Grande do Norte. The study explores the capacity of societies to produce knowledge and innovation aimed at democratizing rural spaces, using honey production in a community with strong socio-environmental organization as a reference. It discusses the geographies that underlie observation, creation, production, and intervention in reality — geographies capable of fostering innovative actions at the intersection of popular knowledge and scientific understanding.
