Summary:Through Rafael Correa’s three presidential mandates, between 2006 and 2016, he brought the environmental issue into the core of its political project by allying with the indigenous and environmental movements. For instance, he constitutionalized the Buen Vivir and nature’s rights. Despite this, depending on the levels of action and alliances, tensions, ruptures, conflicts emerge. This article will focus on the different actors’ configurations on the environmental issue in order to highlight the differences of positions, even the contradictory ones, depending on the interlocutors and levels of action.
