Summary:The convergence of artificial intelligence and synthetic biology offers transformative opportunities to enhance global biosecurity. Emerging technologies promise rapid detection, containment, and mitigation of global biological threats, while simultaneously raising complex ethical and security challenges. This research aims to critically examine advances in AI applications for biosecurity, innovations in vaccine development enabled by synthetic biology, and the risks associated with the democratization of powerful biotechnological tools. We highlight both the potential and the dangers of integrating these technologies into public health preparedness systems and advocate for the establishment of robust governance frameworks to ensure their ethical and equitable implementation.
