Summary:The article has been devoted to the analysis of definitions between two relevant concepts of modern professional management – staff motivation and stimulation. An explanation has been given for the desire to go to a particular goal. It has been studied, how does motivation differ from stimulation, and what is the relationship between them, why it is so easy to get confused in the meaning of these concepts. Based on the scientific literature, concepts of motivation and stimulation, mechanisms of their action have been revealed, examples have been given. It has been concluded about the interconnection and interdependence of motivation and stimulation, their role in the strategy of organizing the labor process, increasing its effectiveness and self-realization of the individual’s potential.
