Summary: | The article draws on the outcome of a residency held in 2019 in a hyper-rural municipality of the Monts d’Ardèche Regional Natural Park. It analyses the different notions of the landscape that clash in a sociologically composite area experiencing the influx of new populations attracted by a representation of an authentic landscape associated with a certain lifestyle. However, the different modes and time frames in the occupation and use of the territory, notably between permanent and secondary residents, give rise to differing projections on the landscape and, as a result, different modes of shaping the landscape which can confront one another. In such a context, the political construction of a shared landscape project is embodied in the ongoing interaction between individual and collective actions. |
