Summary:<p>The article is devoted to the study of dysphemisation and its connection with taboo vocabulary in "Russian Cherished Tales" by A.N. Afanasyev. The concepts of "dysphemism" and "dysphemisation", the peculiarities of their use in oral and written speech, the unethicality issue of these concepts and their connection with profanity are studied. The article also analyzes the reasons for the large number of profanities in the "Russian Cherished Tales" by A.N. Afanasyev.</p>
