Iqra Khalid
Iqra Khalid (born November 20, 1985) is a Canadian politician who was elected to represent the riding of Mississauga—Erin Mills in the House of Commons of Canada in the 2015 federal election. Ms. Khalid has courted controversy: she has apologized in the past for associating with a radical activist who has purportedly incited violence against Jews. In September 2019, a photo reportedly received by B’nai Brith Canada shows Iqra Khalid posing at an event in the home of Amin El-Maoued, a radical anti-Israel activist. B’nai Brith claims they exposed Khalid for presenting a “Certificate of Appreciation” to El-Maoued and started a successful petition demanding that she rescind the certificate, which, eventually she did.
