(NSA)
intelligence analyst
who sent
classified information
about
drone warfare
to the press. Hale served in the
United States Air Force
2009–2013 before joining the National Security Agency and leaking classified documents to ''

''. In 2021, he
pled guilty
to retaining and transmitting national defense information and was sentenced to 45 months in prison. He was incarcerated at
United States Penitentiary, Marion
, Illinois. He was released on July 5, 2024.
